World in Conflict Units

World in conflict has multiple factions. But each faction has roughly the same units. They differ slightly in for example damage and speed, but at the end it's all balanced out.

Armor

• Heavy Tank: The strongest tank, has a massive amout of armor and firepower. But because this tank is very expensive, you can't have a lot of them.
  
• Medium Tank: Lighter armor, and less firepower. But it's faster and cheaper.
  
• Light Tank: Cheapest and fastest tank. Not very strong against heavy fire, but a very versatile unit fastly to cap points with.
  
• Armored Transport: Protects infantry, equiped with TOW missiles
  
• Amphibious Armored Transport: Armored transport that can go through water.
  

Air

• Heavy Attack Helicopter: Stongest helicopter, exelent against tanks and slow vehicles.
  
• Medium Attack Helicopter: Anti-air helicopter, so exelent for hunting down other helicopters.
  
• Scout Helicopter: Fast but unarmored helicopter for spotting units.
  
• Transport Helicopter: Transport infantry with this unit
  

Infantry

• Infantry Squad: Regular infantry, good versus other infantry and air units.
  
• Anti-Tank Infantry Squad: Infantry, with heavy anti-vehicle power.
  
• Sniper: Great for picking of infantry units from a distance
  
• Demolition Engineer: Can rig buildings with bombs.
  
• Troop Transport: Infatry moves slow, this will help you reach further and shoots with a mounted MG.
  
• Transport Truck: Also for transport, but cheaper and unarmed.
  

Support

• Heavy Anti-Air Vehicle: Main anti air vehicle for taking down helicopters with heatseaking missles.
  
• Medium Anti-Air Vehicle: Weakers, but cheaper than heavy anti-air. And has no homing missles, but regular rapid fired rounds.
  
• Heavy Artillery: Biggest artillery unit. Does massive damage on impact and has a very long range. But is very vulnerable to air attacks
  
• Medium Artillery: Weaker but more agile and cheaper then the heavy version.
  
• Repair Tank: Unit that repairs other vehicles (and itself.)
  

Soviet Assault, almost there!

The World in Conflict expansion "Soviet Assault" is almost done. Release is planned for March 2009. There will also be an Complete edition which will include World in Conflict + Soviet Assault. New features are still not entirely certain. But at least it will include:

• A new singleplayer campaign starring the Soviet army.
• New (multiplayer) maps
• Enhanced graphics
• New units for every faction

WiC Rank Requirement

A brief summary of the points needed to get a specific rank. When reached 110,000 points (First Lieutenant), player activity starts playing a greater role in your ranking. Since you need to be above a certain percentage of the World In Coflict players.

Private:

• 600 points.

Private First Class:

• 2,000 points.

Corporal:

• 5,000 points.

Sergeant:

• 9,000 points.

Staff Sergeant

• 15,000 points.

Sergeant First Class:

• 25,000 points.

First Sergeant :

• 40,000 points.

Sergeant Major:

• 58,000 points.

Second Lieutenant:

• 77,000 points.

First Lieutenant:

• 110,000 points. (plus you need to be above 33 percent of the players on the leaderboard)

Captain:

• 145,000 points. (and you need to be above 55 percent of the players on the leaderboard)

Major:

• 180,000 points. (and you need to be above 70 percent of the players on the leaderboard)

Lieutenant Colonel:

• 215,000 points. (and you need to be above 80 percent of the players on the leaderboard)

Colonel:

• 260,000 points. (and you need to be above 87 percent of the players on the leaderboard)

Brigadier General:

• 310,000 points. (and you need to be above 91 percent of the players on the leaderboard)

Major General:

• 365,000 points. (and you need to be above 95 percent of the players on the leaderboard)

Lieutenant General:

• 430,000 points. (and you need to be above 98 percent of the players on the leaderboard)

General:

• 500,000 points. (andyou need to be above 99 percent of the players on the leaderboard)

WiC Role Badges

The following badges can be obtained by getting a cumulative number of points while playing a certain class like Infantry, Air, Support or Armor.

Infantry specialist

• Bronze: You have to earn a total of 8000 points in the Infantry role.
• Silver: You have to earn a total of 50000 points in the Infantry role.
• Gold: You have to earn a total of 400000 points in the Infantry role.

Air specialist

• Bronze: You have to earn a total of 8000 points in the Air role.
• Silver: You have to earn a total of 50000 points in the Air role.
• Gold: You have to earn a total of 400000 points in the Air role.

Armor specialist

• Bronze: You have to earn a total of 8000 points in the Armor role.
• Silver: You have to earn a total of 50000 points in the Armor role.
• Gold: You have to earn a total of 400000 points in the Armor role.

Support specialist

• Bronze: You have to earn a total of 8000 points in the Support role.
• Silver: You have to earn a total of 50000 points in the Support role.
• Gold: You have to earn a total of 400000 points in the Support role.

WiC Clan Medals

For the clan players. The following awards can be achieved by reaching special clan objectives. It's not possible to get these medals without being in a clan.

Clan Winning Streak Award

• Bronze: Your clan has to win three matches in a row.
• Silver: Your clan has to win seven matches in a row.
• Gold: Your clan has to win 30 matches in a row.

Clan Domination Specialist Award

• Bronze: Your clan has to win five Domination matches.
• Silver: Your clan has to win 50 Domination matches.
• Gold: Your clan has to win seven Domination matches in a row.

Clan Domination Excellency

• Bronze: Your clan has to win a Domination round by Total Domination.
• Silver: Your clan has to win seven Domination rounds by Total Domination.
• Gold: Your clan has to win five Domination rounds in a row by Total Domination.

Clan Assault Specialist Award

• Bronze: Your clan has to win five Assault matches.
• Silver: Your clan has to win 50 Assault matches.
• Gold: Unknown

Clan Assault Excellency

• Bronze: Your clan has to win an Assault match with a Perfect Defense.
• Silver: Your clan has to win seven Assault matches with a Perfect Defense.
• Gold: Your clan has to win five Assault matches in a row with a Perfect Defense.

Clan Tug of War Specialist Award

• Bronze: Your clan has to win five Tug of War matches.
• Silver: Your clan has to win 50 Tug of War matches.
